about

This album is a soundtrack to a mystery/horror movie that doesn’t exist (at least not outside my own head).

The movie is set in an unspecified but somewhat remote area with lots of deep forests. It could be Småland in Sweden, the Bavarian forest in Germany or maybe Washington, USA?

I picture the start of the movie to be quite beautiful and give off a happy vibe, with drone footage of a pretty village and the woods behind it, accompanied by folk music-esque sounds, then as the camera reaches the deeper, darker parts of the forest, things quickly get creepier.

After getting acquainted with the main characters Per and Inger and getting to know their simple home, Per goes for a walk in the forest where he meets a strange goat with seven eyes.

Shortly after, his mind begins to slowly crumble and he eventually goes mad.

One day while Per is out behind the stables to slaughter some chickens, a neighbour stops by for a visit and notices Per acting strange. Before he realizes how bad things are, Per takes the chicken axe to the neighbour and kills him.

Driven by madness, Per drags his wife into the woods to meet the seven-eyed goat and his mental state deteriorates even further, to the point where he takes his own life.

Eventually the police come looking for the missing neighbour and discovers his body behind the stables and Per’s body in the basement.

At this point, Inger’s mind had also began deteriorating and she takes off into the woods, and that’s how the movie ends.

What is this strange seven-eyed goat you ask? Is it a supernatural being dwelling in the woods, like Bob from Twin Peaks? Is it the devil himself? Or is it just a metaphor for the twisted things humans are capable of?
